Design Story:
We created this design to celebrate and empower women as they continue the cycle of life (Nde in Anishinaabemowin means ‘my heart’). In our culture, breastfeeding is seen as a sacred ceremony connecting the present (my child) and the past (our ancestors). Having said that, let's not forget the struggles of nursing; it hurts, it's not easy, and that's ok. You don't have to live up to everyone's expectations. Nonetheless, it is impossible to describe the sense of being connected as you take in the smells, colours, and sounds of your baby. As a parent, you feel empowered and joyful knowing your child is receiving the best nutrients and antibodies to grow, develop, and become the best version of themselves possible.
